Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
