Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 None except you, O disbelievers you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
