Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
