The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
