The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
