The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
