The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
