The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WOE TO THOSE who give short measure, 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do those not think that they shall be raised up 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
