The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
