The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On studded thrones. 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and continuous shade, 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
