Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Did We create the angels as females the while they witnessed?” 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 They say, 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
