The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
