The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
