The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And rejects the best, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous - see V. 2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell). 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
