Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blest be He in whose hand is the dominion, and He is over everything Potent. 1 He who has created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving. 2 It is He who has created seven heavens, one above the other. You can see no flaw in the creation of the Beneficent God. Look again. Can you see faults? 3 Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. 4 We have adorned the lower heaven with lamps, and We made them a stoning for the satans, We have prepared the punishment of the Blaze for them. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are thrown into hell, they will hear its roaring while it boils. 7 and wellnigh bursts asunder with rage. As often as a troop is cast into it, its keepers ask them, 'Came there no warner to you?'; 8 They shall say: Yea! indeed there came to us a warner, but we rejected (him) and said: Allah has not revealed anything, you are only in a great error. 9 They also say, 'If we had only heard, or had understood, we would not have been of the inhabitants of the Blaze.' 10 They will confess to their sins, but the dwellers of hell will be far away from God's (mercy). 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 And conceal your word or manifest it; surely He is Cognizant of what is in the hearts. 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
