And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
