۞ Your Lord has ordered you to worship none except Him, and to be good to your parents. If either or both of them attain old age with you, do not say: "Fie on you", nor rebuke them, but speak to them with words of respect. 23 And make yourself submissively gentle to them with compassion, and say: O my Lord! have compassion on them, as they brought me up (when I was) little. 24 Your Lord is most knowing of what is within yourselves. If you should be righteous [in intention] - then indeed He is ever, to the often returning [to Him], Forgiving. 25 So give to your relatives what is their due, and to those who are needy, and the wayfarers; and do not dissipate (your wealth) extravagantly. 26 Lo! the squanderers were ever brothers of the devils, and the devil was ever an ingrate to his Lord. 27 If you are not able to assist them, at least speak to them in a kind manner. 28 And do not keep your hand tied to your neck nor open it completely, lest you remain seated – reproached, weary. 29 Certainly Your Lord makes plentiful the provision of whomsoever He wills and straitens it for whomsoever He wills. He is well-aware and is fully observant of all that relates to His servants. 30
