The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif. Lam. Ra. These are the verses of the Book and the glorious Quran. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 Leave them to eat and enjoy life and let false hopes amuse them. They will soon come to know. 3 And We destroyed no township but there was a known decree for it. 4 Every nation can only live for the time appointed for it. 5 And they say: O thou unto whom the Reminder is revealed, lo! thou art indeed a madman! 6 Why do you not bring down the angels if what you say is true". 7 We send not the angels down except with the truth (i.e. for torment, etc.), and in that case, they (the disbelievers) would have no respite! 8 It is We who sent down the Koran, and We watch over it. 9 We sent messengers before you to the previous peoples, 10 But never once an apostle came to them at whom they did not scoff. 11 So We make it enter the hearts of the sinners. 12 They believe not therein, though the example of the men of old hath gone before. 13 and even if We opened to them a door from heaven, and they began ascending through it, 14 yet would they say, 'Our eyes have been dazzled; nay, we are a people bewitched!' 15
