The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Was there not a period of time when man was nothing worth mentioning? 1 Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight. 2 We have indeed shown him the way – whether he is grateful or ingrate. 3 [Now,] behold, for those who deny the truth We have readied chains and shackles, and a blazing flame 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 The Kafoor is a spring, from which the chosen bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to flow wherever they wish inside their palaces. 6 They fulfill vows and fear a day the evil of which shall be spreading far and wide. 7 And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. 8 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; 9 Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful." 10 Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy; 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 Reclining upon couches, they will find therein neither the heat of the sun nor bitter, biting cold, 13 Near them shall be its shades with its clusters hung gently down, 14 Vessels of silver and goblets of pure crystal will be passed round among them 15 and gleaming silver goblets which have been filled to the exact measure, 16 And they will be given to drink a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger 17 from a fountain called Salsabila. 18 ۞ And boys of everlasting youth will go about attending them. Looking at them you would think that they were pearls dispersed. 19 When you see them, you see bliss, and a great Kingdom. 20 Their garments will be of fine green silk, and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. 22

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
