We answered the prayer of Noah who had prayed to Us before and saved him and his followers from the great disaster. 76 And We helped him against the people who denied Our signs; indeed they were evil people, We therefore drowned them all. 77 And David and Solomon -- when they gave judgment concerning the tillage, when the sheep of the people strayed there, and We bore witness to their judgment; 78 So We made Sulaiman to understand it; and to each one We gave wisdom and knowledge; and We made the mountains, and the birds to celebrate Our praise with Dawood; and We were the doers. 79 It was We Who taught him the making of coats of mail for your benefit, to guard you from each other's violence: will ye then be grateful? 80 To Solomon the raging wind ran at his command to the land which We had blessed. We have knowledge of all things. 81 And We subdued many devils who dived (into the sea) for him and carried out other jobs besides that. We kept watch over all of them. 82 ۞ And Job -- when he called unto his Lord, 'Behold, affliction has visited me, and Thou art the most merciful of the merciful.' 83 So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers [of Allah]. 84 AND [remember] Ishmael and Idris and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto God]: they all were among those who are patient in adversity, 85 And they were admitted to Our grace. Verily they were among the doers of good. 86 AND [remember] him of the great fish when he went off in wrath, thinking that We had no power over him! But then heeded out in the deep darkness [of his distress]: "There is no deity save Thee! Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! Verily, I have done wrong!" 87 So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allah, abstain from evil and work righteousness). 88 And We bestowed favour upon Zechariah, when he cried to his Lord: "Lord! Leave me not solitary (without any issue). You are the Best Inheritor." 89 So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive. 90 Remember the one who guarded her chastity; so We breathed Our Spirit into her, and made her and her son a sign for all people. 91 'Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so serve Me.' 92 And [yet] they divided their affair among themselves, [but] all to Us will return. 93
