And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 "And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel." 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear? 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 He said, 'What, even though I brought thee something so manifest?' 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
