The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
