And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It shall come unto them on a sudden, and they shall not perceive. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
