Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 that they shall receive Our help 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
