A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. 2 Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind. 3 How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them. 4 When Our wrath struck them, they could do nothing but confess to their sins. 5 Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers. 6 We shall recount (their deeds) to them with knowledge, for We were never absent (and saw all they did). 7 And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful. 8 and those whose scales are light will be the losers, for they, are the ones who have been unjust to Our signs. 9 And surely, We gave you authority on the earth and appointed for you therein provisions (for your life). Little thanks do you give. 10
