And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, Satan has touched me with hardship and torment." 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life. 46 and, in Our sight they were indeed among the select, the truly good! 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is an advice; and indeed for the pious is an excellent abode. 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 They will be comfortably seated; reclining, they will call for abundant fruit and drink; 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 this is Our provision, unto which there is no end.' 54 Yea, such! but - for the wrong-doers will be an evil place of (Final) Return!- 55 Hell! Where they will burn, and worst (indeed) is that place to rest! 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 Their leaders will be told, "This band will also be thrown headlong with you into hell." Their leaders will exclaim, "May condemnation fall upon them! Let them suffer the torment of fire". 59 They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!" 60 They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 Did we laugh at them (for nothing), or our eyes fail to pick them out?" 63 Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire! 64
