Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 Nor can ye frustrate (aught), (fleeing) through the earth; nor have ye, besides Allah, any one to protect or to help. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 If He wills, He can calm the winds so the ships remain still on the sea surface; indeed in this are signs for every greatly enduring, grateful person. 33 Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much. 34 And for those who dispute regarding Our signs to realise; that they do not have a place to escape to. 35 So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely 36 (This reward will be for) those who keep away from major sins and indecency, who forgive when they are made angry, 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 Surely, he who bears patiently and forgives indeed that is true constancy. 43
