And those who believe say: Why has not a chapter been revealed? But when a decisive chapter is revealed, and fighting is mentioned therein you see those in whose hearts is a disease look to you with the look of one fainting because of death. Woe to them then! 20 obedience, and words honourable. Then, when the matter is resolved, if they were true to God, it would be better for them. 21 If you turned away, would you then haply work corruption in the land, and break your bonds of kin? 22 They are those who were condemned by God, whose ears were blocked by Him and their eyes blinded. 23 Do they, then, not reflect on the Qur'an? Or are there locks on their hearts? 24 Verily those who have apostated on their backs after the guidance had become manifest unto them, the devil hath embellished this apostacy for them and hath given them false hopes. 25 [they do turn their backs on it] inasmuch as they are wont to say unto those who abhor all that God has revealed, "We will comply with your views on some points." But God knows their secret thoughts: 26 But how (will it be) when the angels take their souls at death, and smite their faces and their backs? 27 That is because they have followed a way that angered Allah, and have been averse to His good pleasure. So He reduced all their works to nought. 28
