The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount, 1 and the Book inscribed 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels); 4 Consider the vault [of heaven] raised high! 5 and the sea that is full 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Then woe that Day to those that treat (Truth) as Falsehood;- 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did, 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 "But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire. 27 Lo! we used to pray unto Him of old. Lo! He is the Benign, the Merciful. 28
