Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Or say they: he hath fabricated it: aye they will not believe. 33 Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or have they a ladder by which they could [ascend to ultimate truths and] listen [to what is beyond the reach of human perception]? Let, then, any of them who have listened [to it] produce a manifest proof [of his knowledge]! 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or is it that you ask of them any recompense so that they should fear to be weighed down under the burden of debt? 40 Or, is the Unseen in their keeping, so they are writing it down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against you O Muhammad SAW)? But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) are themselves in a plot! 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell). 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
