The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners. 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 They shall know tomorrow whichsoever is a liar insolent. 26 for We are [going to] send the she-camel as a trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 Then they called their comrade, and he took in hand, and hamstrung her. 29 Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! 30 Surely We sent upon them a single cry, so they were like the dry fragments of trees which the maker of an enclosure collects. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warning. 33 Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawn 34 a blessing from Us; even so We recompense him who is thankful. 35 Surely Lot warned his people that We shall seize them (with Our chastisement), but they doubted the warnings. 36 They lusted after his guests, so We put out their eyes (and said): "Taste My punishment and My commination." 37 And early in the morning the decreed punishment came upon them. 38 "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 39 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 40
