The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 Reclining face to face. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and shade extended, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And raised couches. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
