Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 in a lofty garden, 22 its fruits are near. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 and no food except pus 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
