Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say (O Muhammad SAW): "It has been revealed to me that a group (from three to ten in number) of jinns listened (to this Quran). They said: 'Verily! We have heard a wonderful Recital (this Quran)! 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 'And we have sought to reach the heaven; but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”; 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; 13 Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
