The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 arise and warn, 2 and magnify the glory of your Lord, 3 thy robes purify 4 And all defilement shun! 5 Do not give, thinking to gain greater 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And made (life) smooth for him. 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 So accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 19 Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- 20 Then he beheld, 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 Scorching the skin. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals. 31
