Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
