The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay, but if he cease not We will seize him by the forelock - 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
