Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 When the seas are poured forth, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! What has made you careless concerning your Lord, the Most Generous? 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 Noble and recording; 11 They know all that you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
