He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 for how can you know that he might seek to purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 To him you give attention. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and fearfully, 9 From him you are distracted. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble, pious. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 and fruits and pastures 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And his mother and his father 35 his wife and his children. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 (Many) faces on that day shall be bright, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
