The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
