Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 He abandoned his people 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 What though they would say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
