He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 So you are after him! 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And he feareth 9 you ignore him. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 And We made corn grow, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing and joyful, 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
