The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
