The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
