Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
