The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
