Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night as it envelops; 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 who gives the lie to the truth and turns away [from it]. 16 And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
