Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 when the planets are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 And most surely there are keepers over you 10 noble scribes 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 What will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
