The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And when they are reminded, they remember not. 13 And when they see an Ayah (a sign, a proof, or an evidence) from Allah, they mock at it. 14 And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic! 15 Is it ever possible that after we die and are reduced to dust and (a skeleton of) bones, we will be raised to life? 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)." 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
