Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 and no food except pus 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
